EARLY CHILDHOOD

The Telluride Foundation has a long history of supporting early childhood education. In 2003 the Foundation launched an early childhood initiative called Bright Futures for Early Childhood and Families (Bright Futures) which exists today as a stand-alone 501(c)3 organization serving regional families and children. A family resource center, Bright Futures’ work includes a Parents as Teachers program, childcare resource and referral services as well as “Strong Start”, a tax-payer funded initiative to improve access, availability, and quality of early childhood care and education in San Miguel County.

The Telluride Foundation’s Early Childhood Education Fund continues to support families and children across our service areas. We partner with many other nonprofit organizations such as Bright Futures, as well as numerous child care facilities and regional social service providers to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
