The 1st Annual Skidola
Telluride's Winter Scramble
What: The Telluride Foundation, in partnership with the Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund (PI Avy Fund), is initiating the FIRST Annual Skidola, Telluride’s Winter Uphill race. The Skidola is an open registration uphill on-snow race open from the town of Telluride to the ridge that parallels the gondola. Telluride Foundation is the host and organizer and all proceeds will be donated to the PI Avy Fund to further their mission to create opportunities for avalanche education and backcountry user awareness in the San Juan Mountains.
Where: Racers start at the base of the gondola in the town of Telluride and finish at the top of the ridge near lift 7.
When: The run will start at 5:30p.m. on Friday, March 13th. Racers ride the gondola back to Telluride or Mountain Village after the race. No downhill traffic will be allowed. Race director reserves the right to delay start due to weather or course conditions.
Who: Anyone who wants to skin, ski, snowshoe or slog! No bikes or motorized equipment. The inaugural Skidola will have the following categories:

Why: The goal of the event is to host a community on-snow race that benefits one of our great nonprofits. The event is put on by the Telluride Foundation in partnership with the PI Avy Fund and Telluride Mountain Club. All proceeds from the event will benefit the PI Avy Fund.
Registration: The cost is $30 online through Feb. 15th and includes race registration, cool swag and appetizers at OAK. Head online to register: https://www.runreg.com/skidola.
Awards: Appetizers & drinks will be held at Oak, awards will be held at 7 p.m. Medals will be awarded to top three athletes in each category. A grand prize will be awarded to the fastest man & fastest woman overall.
