TELLURIDE, CO – Whether you love animals, support early childhood education the arts, the environment, libraries, or have other philanthropic interests, Telluride Gives is a way for you to give back to your community and support our hardworking regional nonprofits. Sponsored by the Telluride Foundation, Telluride Gives, will occur on December 14, 2017 or 12.14.17. During this day of giving, the Foundation encourages every full-time, part-time resident, or visitor of the region to log-on to www.telluridegives.org and contribute to their favorite cause. Donors can find a nonprofit on telluridegives.org and give directly to a cause. This is an opportunity for everyone who cares about the Telluride region to give locally and collectively to the community.

The Telluride Foundation has been supporting the good work of local nonprofits and their causes for 17 years and wants to connect community members with nonprofits’ stories, successes, and challenges. Each participating local nonprofit posts their story or an individual project that needs funding. Donors can go to www.telluridegives.org and select which organizations to fund and what amount to give; donors may give to many or a single cause. One-hundred percent of all donations go to charity (minus a processing fee charged by the credit card companies). Giving will commence at midnight on 12.14.17 and end at 11:59p.m on 12.14.17.

Historically, Telluride Gives has raised:
• $19,000 from 178 individuals for 29 nonprofits on 11.11.11
• $43,000 from 421 individuals for 40 nonprofits on 12.12.12
• $56,000 from 726 individuals for 57 nonprofits on 11.12.13
• $105,000 from 558 individuals for 59 nonprofits on 12.13.14
• $134,000 from 664 individuals for 72 nonprofits on 12.15.15
• $177,000 from 873 individuals for 93 nonprofits on 12.15.16

There will be a matching pool of $5,000 from an anonymous donor that will be distributed to participating nonprofits after Telluride Gives collectively raises $100,000. This match will be shared with every nonprofit. which raises at least $100, on a proportional basis.

KOTO Community Radio is partnering with the Foundation to promote Telluride gives 12.14.17 and will be broadcasting information and updates all day long. “In past years, Telluride Gives has generated much generosity and love for the Telluride regional nonprofits,” said Katie Singer, Marketing and Events Director of the Telluride Foundation. “We thank KOTO Community Radio for broadcasting Telluride Gives 12.14.17 and for supporting our 83 participating nonprofit organizations that enrich our lives every day. On 12.14.17, please visit www.telluridegives.org to show our collective appreciation by giving online.”

Campaign organizers hope that people who have never donated before will give on this day, as well as enable donors to connect with new causes and programs. “Telluride Gives is about our daily lives – our schools, pets, education, athletics, arts, culture, health, and families – everything that makes our lives and our local community unique. It is also about taking care of one another, providing for families and children in need or in crisis.” said Singer.
