Valene Baskfield, LCSW, is Program Manager of the Chang Chavkin Scholars Program. In her role, Valene supports Chang Chavkin Scholars to help them navigate and maximize their college experience.
Prior to working with The Telluride Foundation, Valene worked for 21 years as a school social worker and school counselor in a variety of roles including college and academic advisor, mental health counselor, district liaison and health and wellness coordinator. Valene is also a licensed clinical social worker and has provided services for Hospice, Family Court and the Department of Health and Human Services.
A graduate of the University of Denver, Valene earned her Master’s degrees from the Graduate School of Social Work in 1999. Prior to attending the University of Denver, Valene graduated from Western Washington Unviversity where she earned a BA in anthropology and human services.
Valene and her husband, John Baskfield, are raising their two boys in Ridgway, CO.
